You will have noticed the picture of Salzburg on the home page. The Hohensalzburg Fortress on the Festungsberg is defined as the crown of the old town and thus as the symbol of Salzburg . With 7000 square meters of built area and a total area of over 14000 square meters including the bastions, it is one of the largest castles in Europe.
