The history.
The history of the hotel begins in 1965. With only five rooms at the time, the rustic accommodation with country style was a cozy place to see the old town of Salzburg or just to relax. Rustic furnishings, kitschy decoration and a traditional personal service in costume complete the offer. Over the years, the pension has been expanded with more and more rooms.
In 1980 another building was built against the existing four walls. A small wellness oasis was created, sauna, relaxation room and an indoor pool were the highlights for the guests of the hotel back then.
In 1990 the rustic hotel was taken over by the 2nd generation. In 1995 the name of the hotel was changed to “Hotel Salzburg”.
The first major investment phase began in 2002. The attic of the existing hotel building was raised and more rooms were created. Doors, windows, floors, facades have been completely renewed and the whole building has been completely renovated. The conversion took years and made the Hotel Salzburg what it is today:
